I just had to mention this, seeing as I just finished Dan Brown's novel Angels and Demons not too long ago (see the earlier post). Soon the particle collider that Brown mentioned in the book will become a reality; the estimated start-up date will be 2007, according to the article.

It's pretty exciting as to what such a facility could accomplish in the scientific and physics world.

I also find it almost strange that the place actually does exist (or will), and to the same epic proportions. Brown sure does his research.
