What the title says. Taking WP 2.0 RC3 for a spin and thought I'd change the look. Don't know if I'll keep it.
I still hope to make my own personal theme someday, but it's not really very high on the to-do list.
It's funny how as soon as I decide that maybe backing up my database every night is overkill, and I should only do it once a week, I have to suddenly move servers working completely off of backup. (That's the short version of the story.) At least my cruft-cleaning got done for me!
So, if anybody has the text of whatever I posted that's not included in this backup from RSS or something of the sort, I would really appreciate having 'em mailed to me at christine_dot_spang_at_gmail_dot_com. If not, then it's no big loss.
On the plus side of things, all the flaky service crap should be gone now, because if anything goes wrong with this server, then a lot of people notice -- fast. That also happens next to never. This is Orthanc, the main server powering Shadows of Isildur. This site used to be on a secondary server, which now no longer exists.
Dynamic link rewriting should be fixed as of now; all that I need to do is fix broken links to images and the few music files I had uploaded, and then things should be back to normal again. Let me know if you see anything weird.
I know that nothing has been done to look into whatever quirkiness has caused this thing to be down for the past week and a half or so (more?). Therefore, I am unsure as to why this is up though I still can't SSH into the server.
Weird. Dunno how stable this is going to be, at least for the next week or two.
The Googlebot is currently in mid-spider of this site. <g> I find it somewhat amusing in a strange sort of way that the bot accounts for something like my third highest "OS" (RSS readers and other things also get classified separately from OS's identified while browsing in the stats plugin I use currently). I also find just search engine web crawling on a site of mine amusing as well. Dunno why.
There's my random item for the day. I need to finish packing.
Mostly in the interest of any family members and friends that visit from time to time, I've put up a static page featuring the recordings from concerts, recitals, etc. of mine. Most of the stuff that is already on the page I already had up on the server from previous use, but was currently link-less.
I'm currently ripping the West Genesee Wind Ensemble (my band) compilation from last year (2003-2004) to throw it up as well. As it's all stuff that I've performed in and was never sold commercially, there shouldn't be any issues with distributing any of it, as far as I am aware. Considering All-County as well, but IMO the Wind Ensemble is actually better than the All-County group, and I'm not quite sure that it's worth putting up. Heh.
Enjoy!
For my family, friends, and interested innocent bystanders: the Spang concert music warehouse. All are good quality recordings, and in the free Ogg Vorbis format. Please assume that these are for personal use only. I'd like to be able to offer more than that, but most of the works recorded here are still under copyright from their composers/arrangers. The information I've found regarding copyright law in regard to recordings is somewhat scant; if you are a copyright holder and have a problem with anything offered here, please contact me.

Four really strange comments filled with absolute nonsense seemed to have worked their way onto the site sometime earlier this morning. The weird thing is that the links contained within them weren't even proper links to actual sites. Huh.
Looks like I might need to do something about future prevention, but preferrably on more than the one and a half hours of sleep that I had last night. Hurrah for all-night birthday bashes at friends.
I found the previous page to be a little too stalker-rific, splurgish, and un me-ish for my liking. I think I wrote it during the over-excitement of the WordPress 1.5 release and ended up sounding like... well, not how I wanted it to sound. A way-too-in-depth personality and interests analysis. <grin>
I believe that it's fixed to my satisfaction for the time being.
Apparently I don't have enough stuff to do. Or at least my projects seem to be following my whims lately.
I went ahead and signed up to participate in the CSS Reboot, a recent branch off the May 1st Reboot which focuses on CSS and standards-based sites, instead of May 1st's famed flashboi-presentations.
Hopefully having a deadline will give a little motivation on my end to, like, get to that redesign that I've been saying I'm going to do. As much as I like Kubrick, I really hope to make this a little more personal, hopefully without looking too amateur-ish. The only way to find out is to throw myself at it and see. <eg>
